Woman who went missing with two dogs found dead near Welches, sheriff’s officials say

Authorities reported that they had located Susan Lane-Fournier’s body and ruled her death a homicide less than a day after her husband was taken into custody on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Following the recovery of the corpse of 61-year-old Lane Fournier along East Highway 26 and East Miller Road in Clackamas County near Welches, deputies arrested 71-year-old Michel Fournier of Brightwood on Friday, according to a statement from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

After her truck was discovered nearby, officials indicated that a four-day search was conducted in the Mount Hood National Forest after Lane-Fournier and her two dogs were reported missing on November 22.

According to court documents, Lane-Fournier vanished a few weeks after filing for divorce from her 12-year husband, but the divorce was still pending.

According to officials, Lane-Fournier’s dogs have not been located.
