At 2:34 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Curry County Coast that will be in effect from Friday at 10 p.m. until Saturday at 10 p.m.
“Northeast winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected,” the weather service said. “Winds will first become gusty at exposed locations in the higher terrain on Friday night, then will be strongest across the area during Saturday afternoon and evening.”
“Unsecured objects will be buffeted by gusty gusts. According to the weather service, “a few power outages may result and tree limbs could be blown down.” Strong winds like these can make driving challenging, particularly for well-known cars. Be especially careful.
