Which former Oregon Ducks are in the NFL playoffs this weekend?

A number of former Oregon Ducks athletes will play in the NFL’s wild card weekend, the first step in their pursuit of a Super Bowl.

Fans of Oregon will have to wait a week to see any possible trick plays utilizing the towering offensive tackle, as Penei Sewell and the Lions clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC and a first-round bye.

The Lions employed a hook-and-lady strategy. FOR PENEI SEWELL TACKLEDue to Frank Ragnow’s unlawful downfield play, the touchdown was called [email protected]/3kstt7N4jf is the video.

The complete list of former Ducks to watch in the NFL playoffs this weekend is as follows:

(4) Texans (5) Chargers 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. PT (Paramount+, CBS)

  • Justin Herbert:

The Eugene product and four-year starting quarterback for the Ducks had the best QBR of his NFL career this year (101.7), leading the Chargers into the playoffs for the second time in his five years in Los Angeles. Perhaps revenge is on tap for Herbert against former Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud after the Buckeyes walloped the Ducks in this year s College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl.

  • Troy Dye:

After four years in Minnesota, Dye joined his former college teammate Herbert in Los Angeles prior to this season. The linebacker had a career-high 57 total tackles for the Chargers this season, but that s no surprise for fans of the Ducks: Dye is the only player in Oregon history to lead the team in tackles in four consecutive seasons.

(2) Bills (7) Broncos 10:00 a.m. PT on Sunday (CBS, Paramount+)

  • Bo Nix:

The rookie quarterback had a tremendous season for Denver, finishing it off with an eye-popping statline in a blowout win over the resting Chiefs which secured the Broncos playoff berth: 26-29, 321 yards and four touchdowns. Nix set an NFL rookie record in the process with 18 straight completions to begin the game, and is a strong contender for NFL offensive rookie of the year.

  • Troy Franklin:

A favorite target of Nix s at Oregon, Franklin is in the receiver rotation for Denver with a regular appearance nabbing one or two catches. His best game included five catches for 50 yards against the Saints back in October, and he totaled 28 catches for 263 yards and two touchdowns this season.

  • Alex Forsyth:

The West Linn product and 2023 seventh round pick out of Oregon started four games at center this season for the Broncos, but a healthy Luke Wattenberg will occupy that spot in the playoffs as he has for most of this season. Forsyth took the brunt of criticism for allowing a blocked field goal in Denver s Week 11 loss to Kansas City, but Nix came to his defense and praised Forsyth s preparation. Eagles against. Packers, Sunday, 1:30 p.m. PT (Fubo, FOX)

  • Evan Williams:

After finishing his college career with one season at Oregon in 2023, Williams was a fourth round pick by the Packers in last year s draft. He missed the final three games of the season for Green Bay due to a quad injury but has returned to practice ahead of the playoffs. Williams played in 13 games for the Packers this season, starting in six, and had 49 tackles along with one interception.

(6) Buccaneers’ commanders (3) 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. (NBC, Fubo) PT

  • Marcus Mariota:

The legendary Ducks quarterback filled in well for Commanders rookie starter Jayden Daniels in Week 18, completing 15 of 18 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns in a win over the Cowboys. He also ran five times for 56 yards and a touchdown. The 31-year-old backup is unlikely to see the field against the Buccaneers barring special circumstances or an injury to Daniels, but he has certainly shown enough in his appearances this season to be given another shot as a starter somewhere in the NFL.

  • Bucky Irving:

Right up there with his former quarterback Nix among this year s most outstanding rookies, Irving rushed for 1,122 yards and eight touchdowns for the Buccaneers in 2024. He also caught 47 passes for 392 yards. His 5.4 yards per carry is the third-highest by a rookie in NFL history for those with 200 or more carries, trailing only Adrian Peterson (5.6) and Clinton Portis (5.5).

On Monday at 5:00 p.m. PT, the Vikings will play the Rams (ESPN/ABC, Fubo).

  • Johnny Mundt:

The 30-year-old tight end typically plays second or third fiddle to T.J. Hockenson and Josh Oliver, but he still tied a career-high with 19 receptions this season for the Vikings along with career-bests in both yards (142) and touchdowns (2). Sam Darnold has no shortage of weapons, but come playoff time, perhaps the former Central Catholic star will be the one to make a big play when his number is called.

  • Royce Freeman:

The journeyman, veteran running back was just elevated from the Rams practice squad after starter Blake Corum was placed on season-ending injured reserve. Freeman appeared in 14 games last season for the Rams, rushing 77 times for 319 yards and two touchdowns. What his role looks like on Monday night with Corum sidelined and Los Angeles running back depth being tested remains to be seen.
