What is the plot of Yellowstone Season 5, Episode 12?

Take this as a warning that there will be spoilers about what transpired in the second part of Yellowstone, so proceed appropriately. The official synopsis for tonight’s episode 12, “Counting Coup,” states: Kayce takes a risk. In Texas, Rip turns to a friend for assistance as the bunkhouse mulls about their future. Jamie tries to hide his identity.

There isn’t a lot of detail there, as usual. However, as we learned in Three Fifty Three last week, Kayce pressured the police and medical examiner to reexamine his father’s body and change the cause of death from suicide to undetermined. The death of John Dutton is currently being looked at by the police as a homicide.

His passing is significant news, particularly for his family and all of the ranch staff, as Dutton (played by Kevin Costner before the actor bowed out of returning for these last Yellowstone episodes) was the governor of Montana and the leader of the enormous Yellowstone ranching empire.

When it was revealed that John Dutton had been murdered, Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri) went into her own little panic. The mega-company Market Equities’s lawyer had been secretly planning with Jamie, with whom she was also having a tumultuous affair, to remove John Dutton from office, install Jamie as governor, and revoke John Dutton’s orders, which were intended to safeguard his property and thwart a profitable development deal that Market Equities was keen to see through.

Even though there was a lot of tense discussion about land conservation easements, eminent domain, tax liability, public/private partnerships, and other topics, Kayce, who was upset to hear that his father had been killed, showed up at Jamie’s office, pushed his receptionist in (after she had gotten a lot of abuse from Beth, and now this—when is that staffer going to request a transfer?), and then threw Jamie to the ground.

Kayce stormed out after Jamie vowed he wasn’t to blame for his father’s passing. The former lieutenant governor/acting governor informed the state legislature that he was rescinding John Dutton’s order that had halted the Market Equities development shortly after the news conference stating that his death was now being investigated as a homicide.

In the meantime, Gil Birmingham’s character Thomas Rainwater showed up at the Yellowstone ranch to offer Beth and Kayce his sympathies on the passing of their father. Beth paused her rage and threats of violence toward Jamie to lamentably acknowledge that the family’s only option is to sell a portion of the ranch or lose it all.

“This place cannot be preserved,” Beth stated. Its downfall is just being delayed.

At the end of the episode, Sarah, who had planned to kill John Dutton from a dubious organization, was unable to get in touch with the man in command. She got into a fight with Jamie at his place, and when he slapped her and she slapped him back, she drove away.

A seemingly innocuous pair pulled up in a car next to Sarah, ostensibly to ask for directions, while Jamie was on the phone apologizing for slapping her. Rather, Sarah was killed when the man shot her. When Jamie learned that his number would be on Sarah’s phone at the moment of her death, he went into full panic mode after hearing the murder on the phone. That’s quite damning, Jamie.

Therefore, it makes sense that Jamie would want to hide his identity. In addition, the bunkhouse crew is still in Texas, where they removed the herd to protect the cattle from illness. So, it seems sense that they are thinking about the future!

Is Season 5, part 2 the final episodes of Yellowstone, or will there be a Season 6?

The news about Yellowstone off-screen has also been somewhat dramatic, with the declaration that these series would conclude with Season 5 and that Costner would not be returning for the final episodes, even though the show is revealing significant changes.

Additionally, there is still misunderstanding regarding Yellowstone viewing. Although viewers cannot watch the series on the Paramount Plus streaming service, it does air on the Paramount Network. This is due to the fact that the show was originally available for streaming on Peacock, an NBCUniversal service.

The fact that Yellowstone became a huge hit made that arrangement a huge pain for Paramount +. The prequel series 1883 and 1923 are among the shows from Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan that have moved to Paramount Plus in an effort to attract some of the show’s fan following.

The Madison, a Yellowstone spinoff that stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams, and Matthew Fox, has also been revealed. The show centers on a family from New York City who relocate to the Madison River Valley in central Montana.

Furthermore, no formal statement has been made, despite rumors that Hauser and Reilly, the stars of Yellowstone, have been in discussions to potentially continue the show.

Where can I stream past episodes of Yellowstone ? Is there any way to watch for free?

If you can watch Yellowstone episodes rapidly, there is a way to view some of them for free. As previously stated, you can take advantage of a seven-day free trial of Philo, a streaming service that now offers every episode from Season 3 through Season 5, Part 1 for on-demand viewing. Every Sunday when they air, new episodes of Season 5, part 2 will also be available on the streaming site.

Yellowstone Seasons 1–5 are available for on-demand streaming on Peacock if you want to start at the beginning.Although Peacock only costs $7.99 a month, the second half of Season 5 episodes won’t be available on Peacock until the season is over because of the show’s complex streaming deal. Even yet, you can rewatch the full series for less than $8, and you’ll get a whole month to view all of the episodes.
