On Friday night in Woodlawn, a 14-year-old boy was critically wounded around 10:45 p.m. near 65th Street and Cottage Grove. While walking through an alley, someone in a black Jeep fired shots, hitting him in the abdomen. He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition. The shooter remains at large, and police are investigating.

About an hour later, in South Austin, a 40-year-old man was shot and killed in a basement apartment on North Lamon Avenue after an argument. The known shooter is in custody, and a weapon was recovered. The police are still looking into what led to the shooting.

Early Saturday, also in South Austin, two men were shot in a shootout. A 53-year-old man was killed, and a 39-year-old man was injured. The shooter, who fled in a silver Ford Explorer, has not been caught. The investigation is ongoing.

In Little Village on Saturday, a 3-month-old boy and a 21-year-old man were injured in a shooting. They were in a car when two men shot at them. Later, two men were shot in South Shore around 5:24 a.m. A 32-year-old man was driving when someone in another car started shooting. He was hit in the foot and is expected to recover. A 40-year-old man was shot in the hip and had a broken leg. He is in fair condition. The shooter is still at large.
