The greatest restaurant in the Portland area is up for vote.

Although it wasn’t simple, we have restricted the field. According to you, the readers, these ten eateries are the greatest in the Portland region. Below, cast your vote for your favorite.

Arden

Michael Russell, a restaurant reporter for the Oregonian, listed Arden as one of the top 20 eateries in downtown Portland earlier this year. Why? Russell likes this wine-focused eatery, where owner Kelsey Glasser pours superb glasses and former Taylor Railworks chef Erik Van Kley delivers clever, loosely seasonal meals.

Coquine

Coquine in Mount Tabor, which was named the finest restaurant in Oregon in 2018, has grown to be a regular favorite.

In 2018, Michael Russell said the following regarding Coquine: Perched atop Mount Tabor, a dormant volcano that has been transformed into a public park, is Portland’s best restaurant. No other location in town offers food this sophisticated with a laid-back ambiance, right down to the cafe that’s open seven days a week and welcomes the neighborhood.

Covert Caf

This local favorite received many nominations from its devoted followers, making it an unexpected addition to the list.

Covert Caf, formerly Growler s Taproom, in Montavilla offers a wide array of beers on tap, juicy burgers, steak entrees and a regular line-up of live entertainment and activities.

Heavenly Creatures

Heavenly Creatures was one of The Oregonian sbest new restaurants of 2023.

Michael Russell called this wine-focused Northeast Portland restaurant a Hollywood version of Heaven itself where good French olives, the country p t , the yellowtail toast (always the toast) and a glass or two of great wine set the stage for a heavenly evening.

Kann

Gregory Gourdet s Kann has won an array of accolades, including The Oregonian srestaurant of the yearaward in 2022.

Located in Southeast Portland, Kann is a wood-fired Caribbean restaurant so popular it can be next toimpossible to get a reservation.

Kubo

This Bethany spot featuring traditional Filipino home-cooking garnered an impressive number of nominations from readers.

Nostrana

This beloved Italian restaurant was also in the running forbest pasta restaurantin The Oregonian Readers Choice Awards earlier this year, coming in atNo. 3.

Portland chef Cathy Whims has served up Nostrana s iconic pastas in tomato-butter sauce in Southeast Portland since 2005 and racked up plenty of accolades along the way. Back in 2017, Michael Russell dubbed Nostrana the neighborhood Italian joint of your dreams. Earlier this year, the pizza at Nostrana was included in a list of country s50 bestby Italy s Top 50 Pizza.

Nostrana on SE Morrison Street prides itself not only in their home-made tile patio and illuminating tent, but on the interior work that s been done over the course of the pandemic to rejuvenate the restaurant in preparation for returning to indoor dining. The Italian restaurant prides itself most in its brick pizza oven and sourdough pizza starter.

Ox

This Argentine-inspired spot was The Oregonian sRestaurant of the Year in 2013. Known for its wood-fired grilled meats and locally-sourced ingredients, Ox has long been considered one ofPortland s best restaurants.

One of The Oregonian sbest Spanish restaurantsback in 2017, Urdaneta offers Basque-influenced tapas and drinks. Back in 2017, Michael Russell suggested visiting during happy hour the restaurant s 5-6 p.m. pintxo hour and sample open-faced sandwiches topped with grilled morcilla (blood sausage), some croquetas de jam n and a kalimotxo (red wine and cola) cocktail for just $5 each.
