According to the Vancouver Police Department, an armed man was shot and killed by a police officer in a parking lot on Wednesday night.
According to police, the male was shot by the officer outside a Safeway located at 13719 SE Mill Plain Blvd. in Vancouver at approximately 10:48 p.m. Neither the cop nor the individual who was slain have been publicly identified by officials.
According to police, the man got into a physical altercation with one of the three Vancouver police officers who contacted him for an unidentified reason. An cop allegedly shot the man when he pulled out a gun. According to authorities, the individual was taken by first responders to a hospital, where they declared him dead.
According to officials, one of the officers was injured during the altercation.
While the Washington State Office of Independent Investigations looks into the shooting, three officers have been placed on critical incident leave. According to police, footage from the officers’ on-scene cameras and police vehicles will be made public later.
