Update: Beach hazards statement previously issued will expire at 6 p.m.

The statement applied to the Oregon Central Coast, Tillamook County Coast, and Clatsop County Coast.

“Sneaker waves are no longer as dangerous. However, there is still a greater risk of sneaker waves this week, so be cautious when you’re near the ocean. Sometimes waves will run much farther up onto the beach than regular waves, so beachgoers should be alert for these. According to the National Weather Service, “never turn your back on the ocean.”

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
