The National Weather Service issued an updated beach hazards statement for Oregon’s Central Coast, Clatsop County Coast, and Tillamook County Coast at 12:33 p.m. on Sunday. The warning is in effect from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Monday.
According to the weather service, “Sneaker waves possible.”
“On a beach, particularly over rocks and jetties, waves might go up much farther than usual. According to the weather agency, sneaker waves have the potential to knock people off their feet and drag them into the icy ocean, where they could suffer severe injuries or drown. “Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.”
