Update: Air stagnation advisory issued for Oregon until Thursday midday

On Wednesday at 1:45 p.m., the National Weather Service issued an updated air stagnation advisory that will be in effect until Thursday at noon for the Klamath Basin, Central Douglas County, Eastern Curry County and Josephine County, South Central Oregon Coast, Northern and Eastern Klamath County, Western Lake County, Central and Eastern Lake County, and Jackson County.

According to the weather service, “The poor quality of the air will persist.” An inversion and stagnant air near the surface are to blame for this, as they will continue to trap pollutants.

According to the weather service, “people with respiratory problems may experience problems due to poor air quality.” “Persons with respiratory illness should follow their physicians advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air.”

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
