Update: Air stagnation advisory affecting Oregon until Tuesday morning

South Central Oregon Coast, Central Douglas County, Eastern Curry County and Josephine County, Eastern Douglas County Foothills, Klamath Basin, Northern and Eastern Klamath County, Western Lake County, Central and Eastern Lake County, and Jackson County were all under an updated air stagnation advisory issued by the National Weather Service at 2:57 p.m. on Monday. The advisory was in effect until Tuesday at 10 a.m.

“A strong inversion and stagnant air conditions near the surface will continue to trap pollutants,” the weather agency warns.

According to the weather service, “Air quality may become worse under this inversion,” “Persons with respiratory illness should follow their physicians advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air.”

United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
