The National Weather Service issued a revised air stagnation advisory for the Klamath Basin, Northern and Eastern Klamath County, Western Lake County, and Central and Eastern Lake County on Friday at 6:35 a.m., with a 10-a.m. expiration date.
“Weak winds, poor mixing, and poor ventilation will result from strong valley inversions,” the weather agency warns. Because of this, the air will get stagnant, trapping pollutants close to the surface.
The weather service remarks, “People with respiratory problems may experience problems due to poor air quality.” “Persons with respiratory illness should follow their physicians advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air.”
