Portland Winterhawks
After a 6-game road trip to the Eastern division, where they lost 4-2, the Portland Winterhawks are back at home. A 10-1 loss to the Swift Current Broncos in the final game of the trip spoiled an otherwise enjoyable trip. The last time the Winterhawks lost by nine goals was in 2007; the last time they lost by ten goals was in 1994. Therefore, they will need to move on from it. They shouldn’t have any problems accomplishing that given the situation, as it’s the last game on a lengthy tour, but it was still a 9-goal loss, so you can’t believe it won’t have any impact.
The Winterhawks are tied with the Prince George Cougars for fifth place in the conference, four points ahead of the Vancouver Giants in seventh place, and four points behind the Victoria Royals in fourth place.

The team has added Max P. Eni Ka, a 17-year-old defenceman who is 6 feet 4 inches tall and is ranked eighth among European skaters in the draft. Thus, we’ll see if he participates.
Oh, and Jugnauth has five goals and ten assists over an eight-game point streak.

All of the goalies will start this weekend if their current form maintains. Regretfully, if trends continue, at least one of them will lose this weekend.
Tri-City Americans
The Tri-City Americans were 18-5-1 on November 29. They are now among the league’s coldest clubs, 4-11-2-1.
In an unusual now-for-now transaction of forward Jordan Gavin for defenseman Charlie Elick, they attempted to strengthen their defense during the trade deadline. They have allowed 4.3 goals per game in the 7 games he has played, so it hasn’t really helped yet.
They are one point behind the Vancouver Giants in seventh place in the league. They would need to perform exceptionally well to be in danger of missing the playoffs, since they are 12 points ahead of the Kelowna Rockets and Wenatchee Wild for eighth and ninth place.

16 | 34-Cruz Pavao (45 – 13/37) |
MacAdams and Sloan are on 4-game point streaks. Curran has won three straight games.
According to Central Scouting, Garland, Koch, and Gudelj are all ranked in the fifth through seventh round ranges.
However, due to a hit on Marek Howell during a game against the Vancouver Giants, Gudelj is currently on a TBA ban. The precise duration is most likely still being worked out because Gudelj has missed two games and Howell is week-to-week.
