Trail Blazers love to see an edgy Shaedon Sharpe

Guard Shaedon Sharpe got a little irritable during the second quarter of the Portland Trail Blazers’ 119-90 victory over the Orlando Magic on Thursday night.

Orlando center Goga Bitadze threw Blazers forward Toumani Camara to the ground as he was heading to the baseline. Then Bitadze was bumped in the back by Sharpe, who ran up behind him.

The two players briefly got into each other’s faces after Sharpe was penalized for the foul.

For the usually quiet Sharpe, it was a unique occasion, but his team enjoyed it because a frustrated Sharpe becomes a more dangerous player on the court.

Chauncey Billups, the coach of the Blazers, stated, “I want someone to get into it with Shaedon every game.” We require it. He requires it.

Against the Magic, Shaedon scored 23 points on 9 of 14 shots.

Billups recalled another instance this season in which Sharpe played with greater vigor after a confrontation with Houston player Dillon Brooks.

According to Billups, each time it occurs, it elevates him to a new level. Thus, I adore a crazy Shaedon.

So did Scoot Henderson, a guard for the Blazers.

Henderson remarked, “I love it when Shaedon is out there mad.” Before we begin playing, I have to figure out how to sort of annoy him.

At 7 p.m. on Saturday, the Blazers (19-29), who have won six of their previous seven games, take on the Phoenix Suns (24-22).
