Three Charged in Murder of Chicago Postal Worker

Three individuals have been charged in connection with the murder of Mechellea Williams, a 28-year-old Chicago postal worker and mother of three. On March 20, Williams was found dead from gunshot wounds in her car on Pond Willow Drive in Orland Park, Illinois. Police were alerted by multiple reports of gunfire and discovered her 2020 Nissan Maxima with numerous bullet holes.

The suspects are Kiraun Williams, 29, charged with first-degree murder; Tyshann Boyd, 28, charged with possession of a stolen vehicle; and Alexis Hernandez, 20, charged with obstructing justice. The arrests followed a detailed investigation by local law enforcement.

Williams worked at the U.S. Postal Office on Dearborn Street and was deeply committed to her three young children, ages ten, six, and ten months. Her family described her as a loving mother who devoted herself to her children and community.
