A three-car accident in Champaign on Wednesday left one person injured. The incident, which occurred around 11:50 a.m., took place near the intersection of West Springfield Avenue and South Fair Street.
According to Joe Lamberson of the Champaign Police Department, the accident happened when a vehicle attempted to turn across the street into a business parking lot. The turning vehicle collided with another car that was exiting the roadway. The impact caused the second vehicle to veer off course, striking a nearby mulch pile before coming to a stop against a third vehicle that was parked in the lot.
Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene. One individual sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure.
