Thousands of Providence workers begin largest health care strike in Oregon history

About 5,000 frontline healthcare workers left their jobs early Friday, sparking the biggest health care strike in Oregon history at Providence locations around the state.

The walkout, which affects six women’s clinics and eight hospitals in the state, involves thousands of nurses as well as 150 physicians and advanced practitioners.
