On Friday afternoon, a teenage kid was shot and injured in the Clackamas Town Center parking lot in front of the Barnes & Noble store.
According to a family member who spoke to The Oregonian/OregonLive, the teenager was in a car attempting to flee when at least one shooter started shooting. According to the relative, the teenager managed to leap from the vehicle and dash across the parking lot before being caught up and sent to a hospital. We don’t know the teen’s condition.
Witnesses reported finding at least four shell casings in the parking area close to the shooting scene. The gunman or gunmen fled in the direction of a neighboring TriMet station. Whether they are in captivity is unknown.
According to Brian McCall, a spokesperson for the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, the altercation was not an active shooter scenario, but he advised people to stay away from the area. Several
Police used crime scene tape to shut off portions of the mall parking lot, and Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon City police units were there.
Due to the police activity, TriMet announced on social media that its MAX Green Line is suspended in the vicinity.
