On Tuesday morning, Portland police tactical units were called to a standoff at a residence in the Powellhurst-Gilbert area.
Shortly after 8 a.m., officers carried out a search warrant in the 3300 block of Southeast 90th Place. When they got there, they arrested a number of people, but according to the police, two of them were locked inside the house and wouldn’t leave.
The home was visited by the Police Bureau’s Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Emergency Reaction Team. Streets were blocked while police worked, and local people were instructed to stay indoors. According to the police, the two individuals left the house at approximately 4 p.m.
Police claimed to have taken five persons into custody, however they withheld the identity of those individuals.
