After a client discovered a murky substance that turned out to be fungus, eye drops that were sold all throughout the country, including on Amazon and in Fred Meyer and QFC supermarkets, are being recalled.
The Food and Drug Administration’s recall notice states that the recalled Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Ultra PF were distributed in 25-packs as single-use plastic vials. They are identified by lot number 10101 and expire in September 2025.

According to Alcon Laboratories, a Fort Worth, Texas-based manufacturer, no customer has complained of any negative side effects from using the eye drops.
However, the found fungal contamination may result in an infection that could endanger the user’s vision or perhaps be fatal for people with weakened immune systems.
Alcon claimed to have contacted vendors and requested that they remove the eye drops off their shelves. The drops were delivered both nationally and to internet shops.
On its website, Kroger and Amazon announced a recall, stating that they may have been sold at their locations, including Fred Meyer and QFC.
The eye drops can be returned by customers to the store where they were bought. For inquiries, they can reach Alcon Laboratories at 800-241-5999.
