Solar boom in Oregon could reshape rural landscapes, agriculture

When fifth-generation Klamath County farmer Dave Noble received a letter in the mail in November, he tossed it in the garbage can after crumpling it up.

For years, solar companies have bombarded Noble and other landowners in Bonanza, a high desert village famed for its cattle, dairy cows, and year-round sunshine.
