Danny McCoy, a 68-year-old resident of Skokie, has been identified as the individual found deceased in a vehicle at Woodman’s Food Market in Buffalo Grove on Saturday afternoon.
Police and fire units were dispatched to the scene at 1550 Deerfield Parkway shortly before 3 p.m. following reports of a foul odor coming from a blue Chevrolet Equinox parked in the lot.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered McCoy’s body inside the car, which was located on the south end of the parking area.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office later confirmed McCoy’s identity. Preliminary autopsy results have indicated that McCoy died from natural causes, and there were no signs of foul play.
The incident led to a significant response from both fire and police departments, with emergency personnel remaining on-site for over three hours to investigate and manage the situation.
