FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — The NIC-10’s baseball MVP Earns Prestigious All-State Honor. Freeport senior outfielder Ryan Coon has been named to the Class 3A All-State Team by the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association. This recognition comes as a testament to his stellar performance throughout the season, highlighting his exceptional skills and dedication to the sport.

This past season, Coon boasted an impressive .552 batting average, making him one of the standout players in the league. His speed on the bases was equally remarkable, with 28 bases stolen, showcasing his agility and strategic acumen. Defensively, Coon excelled in centerfield, consistently demonstrating his ability to make crucial plays and support his team.

Coon’s achievements have not gone unnoticed, as he is the sole player from the Rockford area to receive All-State recognition in either Class 3A or 4A. This honor underscores his talent and hard work, distinguishing him among his peers.
