Readers respond: West Coast should form economic coalition

West Coast states have a genuine economic opportunity with the Trump government. In order to create an economic alliance, Oregon, Washington, and California ought to take a cue from the pandemic approach they employed under the previous administration of Donald Trump. The alliance ought to cooperate with our southern neighbors, Mexico, and our northern neighbors, British Columbia.

To create a strong trading system, the group may work together to move commerce across borders and states. The first step for the three governments may be to draft an agreement that would serve as the foundation for more extensive political, economic, and commercial cooperation. Natural resources, agriculture, technology, and higher education—all essential components of a sophisticated, sustainable economy—are all advantages of the west. After all, a politicized transactional president who exclusively benefits the wealthy and red states cannot be expected to be of much assistance to us.
