Readers respond: Praise for ‘clean slate’ program

In addition to congratulating the letter writer and his spouse mentioned in Editor Therese Bottomly’s most recent column, I commend The Oregonian/OregonLive for its clean slate program (Letter from the Editor: Heartfelt desire for clean slate emphasizes why we provide program, Nov. 17). He is capable of crafting an engaging letter. Not everyone in his circumstances possesses this talent. I hope those who are unable to do so can find someone else who can assist them. Possessing ability or a pretty face pays off because society views those who possess these qualities as more acceptable.
