Portlanders can expect frost and sunshine in the week ahead

Forecasters predict that Sunday’s partial sun in Portland will give way to clear skies for the rest of the week.

From Monday through Friday, the National Weather Service forecasts bright or mostly sunny skies.

Overnight low temperatures will drop close to freezing, with highs predicted to reach the mid- to upper-forties. The low temperature on Sunday is predicted to be 32 degrees.

Because of this, meteorologists advise preparing for icy windshields on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings.

Temperature predictions for the coming week are roughly in line with the norm for the area. According to National Weather Service records, the average temperature at Portland International Airport between January 12 and January 17 is approximately 47 degrees at the high and 36 degrees at the low.Over the course of the week, temperatures are predicted to range from a high of 47 degrees on Sunday to 50 degrees on Wednesday, with a minor drop to about 44 degrees on Friday.
