The Portland Trail Blazers will play the equally hot Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night in an attempt to build on their recent success.
Monday night, the Blazers defeated the Phoenix Suns 121-119 in overtime to win their eighth game in nine games.
Earlier that evening, the Pacers defeated the Utah Jazz 112-111.
For the past two months, Indiana has been among the best teams in the NBA. The Pacers have won 12 of their last 14 games and are 19-6 overall after starting the season 9-14.
The Pacers have improved thanks to guard Tyrese Haliburton’s increased play. He has shot 49.1% from the field and 39.7% from outside the arc in his last 26 games, averaging 19.2 points and 8.6 assists since starting the season poorly.
Indiana is ranked 19th on defense (113.9) and ninth on offense (114.7).
Prognosis: Remaining with the Blazers until they give an excuse. The second game of a back-to-back will be played between the two teams, favoring the home team.
