The Portland Trail Blazers will next go on a date with a former team icon.
The Blazers will face Damian Lillard for the third time since his 2023 trade when they play the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night.
After playing for the Blazers for 11 seasons, Lillard is now attempting to win a championship with the Bucks, who are now tied with Miami (17-15) for fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
The Bucks went 15-4 from November 12 to December 23 after starting the season 2-8. They have, however, dropped three of their previous four games.
Compared to his first season with the Bucks, Lillard is having a marginally better season. He is shooting 36.4% from three-point range and 43.4% from the field, averaging 25.1 points and 7.6 assists.
Assists seem to be his most consistent way of contributing to wins. When Lillard contributes nine assists or more, the Bucks are 7-2; when he scores 30 points or more, they are 4-4.
Bucks is the prediction. The Bucks, who are 11-6 at home and 3-14 on the road, cannot afford to lose to underperforming teams as they look to move up into the top four in the East rankings.
The Bucks are two games behind fourth-place Orlando (21-15) and half a game behind seventh-place Atlanta (18-17).
