Portland Trail Blazers at Memphis Grizzlies: Game preview, prediction, time, TV channel

The last time the Portland Trail Blazers faced the Memphis Grizzlies, their opponent on Monday night, they were humiliated.

On November 10, the Blazers lost 134-89 at home after shooting 4 of 42 from three-point range and committing 24 turnovers.

For the Blazers, the defeat was a wake-up call. Since then, they have won four of six games, including one on Saturday at Houston and two over Minnesota.

All of a sudden, the Blazers (7-10) don’t seem to be a team interested in Cooper Flagg, a freshman at Duke who is predicted to be the first choice in the 2025 NBA draft.

They are only two games away from 10th place, the final play-in slot, despite being 13th in the Western Conference. The Blazers are ranked 22nd in the NBA league standings.

Naturally, there is still a lot of basketball to be played, beginning with a rematch with the Grizzlies.

They may be able to re-sign standout guard Ja Morant after winning three of their last four games. He has a dubious rating. Although it was terrifying, Morant and guard Desmond Bane were not there at the Portland blowout.

Since then, Bane has come back and is playing well. The Blazers’ challenge would become even more challenging if Morant were added.

The rookie centers for both teams will be absent. Zach Edey of Memphis has a sprained left ankle, and Donovan Clingan is sidelined for the Blazers due to a sprained knee.

Prediction: The Blazers’ Anfernee Simons is clicking once more. At the Rockets on Saturday, he scored 71 points with Shaedon Sharpe and Jerami Grant.

However, the Blazers’ top interior defender, Clingan, will not be playing. Memphis is likely to capitalize and win.
