Portland Trail Blazers at LA Clippers: Game preview, prediction, time, TV channel

After a two-game journey to California, the Portland Trail Blazers hope to return to Portland with at least one victory.

The Blazers lost 111-98 to the Sacramento Kings on Monday night and will play the LA Clippers on Wednesday.

This season, the Clippers look very different. Kawhi Leonard is sidelined due to his most recent injury, while Paul George is currently a member of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Guard James Harden, who is averaging 25.0 points and 11.7 assists per game, will have a greater offensive responsibility as a result.

Center Ivica Zubachas has averaged 22.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, while former Blazers forward Norman Powell is scoring 24.7 points on average. He has never finished a season with an average of more than 11.7 points.

The Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets were defeated by the new offensive star combination.

The Clippers have had trouble from long range, shooting 31.7% (25th), just ahead of the Blazers (32%, 27th), but ranking 10th in field goal percentage (47%) overall.

The Clippers have played excellent defense to make up for their dearth of three-point shooting. In terms of defensive rating, they are ranked third (103.2), whereas Portland is ranked seventeenth (113.3).

Prediction: The Blazers lost because of their terrible shooting against the Kings. Portland might make up for that performance by playing well against the Clippers. In order to be in a position to steal this game but ultimately lose, expect the Blazers to receive better output from Anferenee Simons and Jerami Grant than they did against the Kings.
