A policy that states that district workers are not required to give information and support to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the enforcement of federal civil immigration laws was updated and strengthened by the Portland Public Schools Board on Tuesday, voting 7-0.
According to the resolution, school employees may deny federal immigration officers entrance to a school outside of the front desk without a court order, or they may deny a staff member or student removal without a court order.
