Portland police spent $1.2 million in overtime during Election Day week

During the week of Election Day, the Portland Police Bureau spent almost $1.2 million on overtime as officers patrolled downtown in anticipation of any possible disturbances.

Chief Bob Day requested that officers work 12-hour shifts and cancel their days off starting on Tuesday, November 5 and continuing through the weekend.
