Known for her political and policy skills, Jillian Schoene, a Portland City Hall mainstay and former Oregon Democratic operative, will take over as Multnomah County’s new homelessness czar later this month.
On December 16, Schoene will take over as the county’s homelessness response director, a position that Chair Jessica Vega Pederson established earlier this year. County officials said she will start out at $160,000 a year.
