Portland city councilors hope to avert closure of NE Portland homeless village

On Tuesday, two members of the Portland City Council encouraged the city to reevaluate plans to close a homeless town for individuals living in cars that launched less than two years ago in Northeast Portland.

During a council work session on city-run shelters and other homeless programs, the imminent closure of the Sunderland RV Safe Park site—which now houses around 70 individuals near Portland International Airport—became a topic of discussion.
