Portland area wakes to fog and cold Sunday, but sunny skies should warm things by afternoon

The central and northern Willamette Valley, Lower Columbia, and southwest Washington lowlands were all experiencing dense fog and freezing fog, and the Portland area woke up to cold temperatures on Sunday, with some places seeing overnight lows below freezing.

Because to the foggy circumstances, the National Weather Service advised drivers to slow down and use low beam headlights. At least halfway through the morning, a freezing fog advisory is still in force.

When clouds give way to bright sky on Sunday afternoon, the high temperature should reach 50 degrees. However, Sunday night is predicted to see another drop below freezing, with a low of 30 degrees overnight. With a high of 48 degrees on Monday, the Portland region may anticipate similar weather.

The National Weather Service says that high pressure over the area will keep things dry, at least through the middle of next week. On Thursday and Friday, there is a 20–40% probability of precipitation again.
