According to a news release from the Portland Police Bureau, a man was hurt by Portland police early Saturday morning in the Reed neighborhood of Southeast Portland when one or more officers opened fire.
Officers were called to an alleged armed robbery in the 5000 block of Southeast Powell Boulevard at 12:24 a.m. on Saturday. A short time later, an officer noticed a driver acting carelessly, and the car matched the description of the robbery suspect’s vehicle. The car came to a stop in the parking lot of Redwood Friends Church, located just north of Reed College, at the 2900 block of Southeast Steele Street.
