Police Report: Body Pulled from Lake Michigan's 'Playpen' in Chicago

On Wednesday evening, Chicago first responders recovered the body of an unidentified male from the waters of Lake Michigan, near Ohio Street Beach. This discovery comes just days after a 58-year-old man was reported missing, believed to have drowned in the vicinity.

SkyCam9 captured aerial footage of the scene around 7:30 p.m. in the 600 block of N. DuSable Lake Shore Dr. Emergency marine crews were seen working diligently to recover the floating body. The body was found in the waters of Ohio Street Beach, a popular area near Navy Pier and Oak Street Beach.

Local authorities are urging caution for those engaging in water activities and emphasise the importance of safety measures, such as wearing life jackets and staying within designated swimming areas. The Chicago Police Department’s Marine Unit continues to patrol the waters, ensuring the safety of all beachgoers and boaters.
