Christy Lafferty, 42, was recognized by police as the woman who was killed in October after being driven over in Southeast Portland while clinging to a car.
Lafferty was found hurt when Portland police officers arrived at the 9900 block of Southeast Stark Street on October 24. After being taken to the hospital, she passed away.
Police Bureau officials said they think the Fairview lady was hanging to the outside of a moving vehicle when she slid off and was struck by a car. Later that day, the car’s driver spoke with detectives after leaving the site. The person has not been named by the police, but they claim that their car was found and taken.
Her death is being investigated, and police have not made any arrest announcements.
According to authorities, Lafferty was the 55th person murdered in Portland this year in traffic-related fatalities. As of Monday, 65 people had lost their lives in automobile accidents in Portland.
