Police focus on drug dealing at downtown Portland’s new hotspot

During a mission Wednesday in the vicinity of Southwest 13th Avenue and Yamhill Street, Portland police made eight arrests and confiscated cash, firearms, and drugs.

Since downtown Portland has been closed, the relatively new hotspot has become one of the most well-liked outdoor gathering spots for drug users and dealers.According to police, Washington Center was raided last year.

On Wednesday, police confiscated three weapons, $2,395 in cash, and 64.5 grams of fentanyl. The police expedition was a component of their stepped-up efforts to combat drug-related offenses. Within a four-block radius of Southwest 13th Avenue and Yamhill Street, 17 arrests have been recorded in the last three months.

Multnomah County’s Coordinated Care Pathway Center, which offers medical tests and referrals for shelter, behavioral health or drug addiction treatment, and other services, is where two of the individuals who were detained on Wednesday went to deflect.
