The city of Philadelphia While Philadelphia Eagles supporters celebrated the team’s victory in Sunday’s NFC championship game, a college student was injured when he climbed a street pole and fell. The kid passed away as a result of his injuries.
On Tuesday evening, Temple University posted a statement on their website announcing the death of 18-year-old Tyler Sabapathy. Born in Toronto, Sabapathy was a talented gymnast and a first-year student specializing in exercise and sport science at the university’s College of Public Health.
According to witnesses, Sabapathy ascended the pole before tumbling to the sidewalk and hitting his head. After being brought to a hospital, he passed away on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Sabapathy had participated in gymnastics for the most of his life and had won over 120 medals in regional, national, and international tournaments. He participated actively in Temple’s gymnastics team as well.
