Following the deaths of two boys in a car in Southwest Portland and a woman in a crash in Northeast Portland last week, a motorist struck and killed a pedestrian in Southeast Portland on Wednesday morning.
A person who has not been publicly identified was struck by a car at approximately 6:45 a.m. near Southeast 109th Avenue and Division Street in the most recent collision; the pedestrian passed away at the scene, according to a statement from the Portland Police Bureau.
According to authorities, the driver stayed at the site and is assisting investigations.
According to data gathered by the Police Bureau, the tragic collision that occurred Wednesday morning represents the 67th traffic-related death in Portland in 2024.
