At 3:27 a.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service issued an air stagnation advisory for the Klamath Basin, Northern and Eastern Klamath County, Western Lake County, and Central and Eastern Lake County. The advisory was in effect from Tuesday at 10 a.m. until Friday at noon.
“Weak winds, poor mixing, and poor ventilation will result from strong valley inversions,” the weather agency warns. Because of this, the air will get stagnant, trapping pollutants close to the surface.
According to the weather service, “people with respiratory problems may experience problems due to poor air quality.” “Persons with respiratory illness should follow their physicians advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air.”
United Robots offers a service called Advance Local Weather Alerts that gathers the most recent information from the National Weather Service using machine learning.
