Oregon train bridge collapse sent 150,000 pounds of fertilizer into Marys River, poses no risk, officials say

The train bridge collapsed.About 150,000 pounds of urea fertilizer poured into the Marys River in Corvallis last week, but state environmental regulators say there is no risk to fish or public health.

On January 4, a bridge collapsed in Corvallis due to a structural failure, sending two Portland & Western rail carriages into the river. One of the cars was nearly completely immersed in the water, and the other was partially submerged.
