Dom Montiel is transferring to Southern Oregon after playing football for Oregon State for three years as a walk-on quarterback.
On Wednesday, the opening day of the national signing period, Montiel, who registered on the transfer portal in December, inked a contract with the Raiders. In 2014, Southern Oregon, an NAIA institution, took home a national championship.

Following his graduation from Marshfield High in 2022, Montiel continued his education at Oregon State. During his three years, Montiel did not participate in any games.
In order to help replace Montiel, the Beavers are searching for at least one other walk-on. Maalik Murphy, Kallen Gutridge, Gabarri Johnson, and Tristan Tia are OSU’s four quarterbacks on the 2025 roster. OSU is anticipated to make an announcement on the addition of Tia during this signing period.
