Oregon State lands $45 million federal grant for microfluidics research

On Tuesday, the Biden administration gave $45 million to an Oregon State University research center that is focusing on creating applications for microfluidics, the study of fluid manipulation at minuscule dimensions.

The funding on Tuesday comes after HP Inc. received a separate $53 million award on Monday to support microfluidics research and manufacture at the company’s Corvallis site. The federal CHIPS Act of 2022 approved both awards, but Tuesday’s financing comes from a recently passed defense funding measure.
