At Gill Coliseum, No. 9 Oregon State handily defeated Brigham Young with 196.40 points on Saturday in their first home gymnastics competition of 2025.
For the first time since taking home two gold medals from the Olympics last summer, senior Jade Carey competed in a home meet and finished with an overall score of 39.725. Carey received marks of 9.90 on the vault, 9.925 on the beam, and 9.95 on the bars and floor.
On both teams, Carey achieved the best score in every event. Other than Carey, the Beaver gymnasts with the highest scores were Sophia Esposito (floor and beam), Lauren Letzsch (beam), Natalie Briones (bars), and Sage Thompson (bars).
194.2 points were scored by Brigham Young. Kylie Eaquinto had the highest overall score, 39.050.
