Michael Rataj, a forward for Oregon State, is the West Coast Conference’s men’s basketball player of the week after recording two double-doubles.
Last Tuesday’s victory over Sacramento State featured 23 points and 12 rebounds from 6-foot-9 German junior Rataj. Rataj scored 16 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in Sunday’s Diamond Head Classic quarterfinal victory over Charleston.
Through 11 games this season, Rataj has six double-doubles and averages 16.6 points and 9.3 rebounds.
The WCC men’s basketball player of the week award is the first for Oregon State.
Oregon State’s next game is against Oakland in the Diamond Head semifinals in Honolulu on Monday at 5 p.m.
