History of the series

The series is 6-4 in favor of Oregon State. The Beavers defeated the team 34–17 in Corvallis in their most recent meeting in 2022. Including victories the last three times the Beavers traveled to Boise, Boise State has a 3-1 record versus OSU in Boise.

Boise State’s star power

The biggest offensive talent Oregon State has faced this season is junior running back Ashton Jeanty. Running for 2,062 yards and 27 touchdowns, Jeanty has dominated the 2024 season. With four 200-yard outings this season, Jeanty has rushed for at least 100 yards in every game. This season, UNLV’s defense outperformed Jeanty, limiting him to 128 yards on 33 runs.

QB Maddux Madsen:This season, Madsen, a redshirt sophomore, has passed for 2,361 yards and 19 touchdowns. Against San Diego State, he threw for a season-high 307 yards and four touchdowns. Madsen has the ability to run as well; he ran for 178 yards and three touchdowns.

Cameron Camper, wide receiver: With 45 receptions for 738 yards and four scores, the Indiana transfer leads Boise State in receiving. Against Hawaii, Camper had his best game with seven receptions for 111 yards.

Ahmed Hassanein, DE: Hassanein is a senior who ruins quarterbacks and was born in Egypt. Hassanein has 11 tackles for loss and 8 sacks this season, fresh off a first-team all-Mountain West campaign in which he recorded 12 sacks.

Ty Benefield, S: With 63 tackles and three for loss, the sophomore leads the Broncos in tackles.

Jayden Virgin-Morgan, Edge: Joins Hassanein to provide Boise State a fantastic rush of passes. Virgin-Morgan, a sophomore, leads the team with nine sacks and twelve tackles for loss. In his last six games, Virgin-Morgan has been tackled for loss at least once.

Something to be aware about

Boise State ranks second in the US in terms of sacks, with Virgin-Morgan and Hassanein at the top. However, there is little doubt about Oregon State’s defensive approach. Boise State’s rushing defense, which allows 105.7 yards per game, is 16th in the nation. The Broncos, however, are ranked 124th via the air and give up 261.2 yards per game.

What to anticipate

One side has nothing to lose in this game, while the other side has everything to lose. Although few anticipate the Beavers to defeat nationally ranked teams in back-to-back games, Oregon State needs a victory to qualify for the bowl. Boise State has high expectations since a victory on Friday will advance the Broncos to the College Football Playoffs and the MWC championship game. Although Boise State hasn’t played as well as it did at the beginning of the season, the team is still winning. Last Saturday’s victory over Wyoming required a late score. Jeanty’s health comes next. After suffering a lower leg injury in the third quarter of the Wyoming game, the junior running back returned for the final two series. If Jeanty has an ankle injury, it will be interesting to watch how she recovers. Oregon State just finished the season with its best offensive showing. In his last two games, quarterback Ben Gulbranson has passed for 292 and 294 yards. With a short week and an uncommon morning kickoff, we’re thinking that anything can happen, from Boise State showcasing a fantastic program to an upset by Oregon State.
