Powerball announced on Sunday that the first winning Powerball jackpot ticket of 2025 was purchased by a player in the Oregon Lottery. The total value of the prize was $328.5 million.
According to Oregon Lottery spokesman Melanie Mesaros, the award has not yet been claimed. Due to Monday’s Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Mesaros stated that the claim center will not be accessible until Tuesday.
According to a news release from Mesaros, the ticket was bought in Beaverton on Friday.
Red Powerball 23 and white balls 14, 31, 35, 64, and 69 were the winning numbers in the Saturday Powerball drawing.
According to a news release from Powerball, the odds of winning the jackpot are one in 292 million.
The winner from Oregon has the option of receiving their $146.4 million prize in one single sum or over time. According to Powerball, the winner who chooses the annual payment option will receive one payment right away in addition to 29 yearly payments that grow by 5% year.
Last year’s $1.3 billion Powerball jackpot was the biggest reward ever won by an Oregonian, according to Mesaros. Most lottery winners are not allowed to stay nameless under Oregon law.
