The Oregon Health Authority is requesting community people to assist in assessing the potential effects on health care access, cost, and competition in Oregon of the proposed merger between Oregon Health & Science University and Legacy Health.
OHSU’s offer to purchase Legacy is being examined by the Health Care Market Oversight program, which was established by the state in 2021 to increase accountability and transparency in significant health care business transactions. Additionally, it is examining Legacy’s intentions to reorganize its Legacy Health Foundation and give the Foundation control of PacificSource.
